Marianne Lettieri is a visual artist who works with cultural artifacts and common objects. Her mixed media constructions seek to reveal subtle and significant shifts in culturally shared values and practices. Inspired by the collection of ancient biblical artifacts at the Pacific School of Religion’s Badè Museum, Lettieri created a new body of work that incorporates objects of domestic and manual labor. By incorporating disappearing relics of the past into pieces of art, Lettieri illuminated and informed current social, historical, political and cultural contexts and their intersection with the artifacts of the ancient Near East displayed at the Badè Museum.
